Mission
The mission of the National Association of Mothers' Centers (NAMC) is to enable members to be effective in using their individual and collective knowledge and experiences as a catalyst for personal and societal changes that benefit mothers of families.
Working Core Concepts
While each Mothers' Center is unique, Mothers' Centers share the following core concepts:
1. Mothering - A respect for, attention to, and inquiry about motherhood, maternal thinking, knowlege and experience.
2. Information - Informative programs and activities that inspire the highest level of development for the participant, the family and the organization.
3. Structure - A structure that encourages each participant to become an equitable shareholder of the program.
4. Environment - A supportive group environment that promotes empathy, interaction and cohesiveness, encourages growth and fosters relationships.
5. Advocacy - An enhancement of the participants' ability to advocate effectively for change that benefits women and families.
